What is the Elios card?
The Elios card is a Visa Platinum debit card connected directly to your Elios balance. When you pay, your USDC is spent from your own wallet, no need to top up a separate card balance or convert in advance.
The card is issued by a licensed card issuing partner, subject to eligibility, country availability, partner terms, and network rules.
How does a card payment work?
When you tap or pay online, Visa asks Elios to approve the payment in real time. We check your available balance and your card settings, and the payment is approved in under a second, the same experience as any card.
Behind the scenes, the amount is then set aside from your balance and held while the payment completes on the Visa network, which typically takes a few days. During this time the transaction shows as pending in the app. Once the merchant finalizes it, the payment settles and the transaction is marked complete.
If a payment is cancelled or refunded by the merchant, the held amount is returned to your main balance.
All of this runs on the card permissions you approved at setup, which are scoped and enforced on chain. Elios can only move funds for the card operations you authorized, nothing else.
