How can we help?

Fraud Prevention & Security

Is Elios safe?

Elios is fully self-custodial. You hold your funds and your private keys at all times. We never take custody. Fiat services such as deposits, withdrawals, and account details are provided through regulated partners, and your card is issued by licensed institutions.

How should I protect my recovery phrase?

Your keys live on your device. You can export your 12-word recovery phrase under Settings > Security. Store it somewhere safe, offline, and never share it with anyone.

Self-custody means you stay in control, but it also means you are responsible for your backup. If you lose your phone without saving your recovery phrase, Elios cannot recover your funds for you.

Encrypted cloud backup is coming soon. Until then, keep your recovery phrase safe and avoid holding more funds in the app than you are comfortable testing with.

How does Elios protect my account?

Elios may use:

  • Email verification
  • Device checks
  • Biometric security
  • Liveness checks
  • Transaction monitoring
  • Risk scoring
  • Card controls
  • Fraud prevention tools
  • Account recovery checks

Should I keep my app updated?

Yes. Always use the latest version of the Elios app to receive security updates and product improvements.

How do I protect myself?

You should:

  • Use a secure device
  • Keep your email safe
  • Never share OTPs
  • Never share recovery information
  • Verify addresses before sending
  • Avoid suspicious links
  • Freeze your card if anything looks wrong
  • Contact support through official channels only

Does Elios ever ask for my password or OTP?

No Elios team member should ask you to share your password, OTP, recovery phrase, private key, or sensitive login information.

What should I do if I suspect fraud?

Freeze your card, stop using suspicious links, and contact Elios support immediately.
